Concept

Saim79 request was to represent all of his different activities equally. Saim79 raps, scratches turntables, produces artists, models and works as sound designer besides all of that. It was challenging to include Saim79’s diverse activities/skills without becoming to complex in the website’s structure and consequently confuses the user. In addition, all five activities have the same importance to Saim79 and should be represented equally to the user. Solution: Having two different navigation bars through which the user can access the requested content immediately. The first navigation includes general categories like news and media which refer to all activities/skills of Saim79. In media, the user can watch trailers and listen to snippets of Saim79’s work, thereby he/she can choose between three different players. The second navigation (located at the bottom) lists the artist’s "five faces" with clear titles. To have a connection between all different categories Saim79 is featured in the same position and face expression, only clothes & accessories change from category to category. Each category includes a personal statement, specific work examples and a description of the particular activity/skill.

Style

Dark and dirty/impure colours are used to emphasize Saim79’s personality and music style with rough beats and hard lyrics. Furthermore pipes, which are sticking out of a plain stone wall, give the user the impression to look at some kind of billboard construction, located in an old industry. The whole appearance is rough, cold and actually makes you a little uncomfortable. It’s made for rough guys and not for sweethearts! Special feature is the switch which can be used to turn the light on or off (see image 6 - 7).
