"Agency, no thanks! Desciens is the way to go."

Not like agencies that work parallel on various projects, I like to work on one project at a time.
This gives me the advantage to put much more thought and time into it.

Why Desciens?

Your project gets the attention it deserves.

Not like agencies that work parallel on various projects, I like to work on one project at a time. This gives me the advantage to put much more thought and time into it.

Quick, easy & efficient communication.

Working with an agency can be tricky. Who is really in charge? Who to talk to? Why do email responses take so long? Working with me, makes communication much easier and enjoyable. I am your contact person, I am here for you. If you have a question, call me directly and I will answer.

Save money.

Agencies, have more expenses (think about all the employees that need to be paid) and therefore need to charge much higher rates than Desciens. Desciens is a one-woman-show, with 1 computer, 1 small office, 1 internet & electricity bill and no middle-man.

Icon

Just as reliable & even more committed!

Many think agencies are more reliable and therefore worth the extra money. I apologies for destroying a illusion, but black sheep’s hide everywhere. Look at it from this angle, freelancer live for their work and depend on good reputation, you are more likely to get a 100% committed and reliable freelancer than employee in an agency. I am reliable and probably the most committed person you will ever meet.

The Process

  • 1. Plan(Discovery/Research/Analysis/Wireframes/IA)

Let’s plan the perfect site! To get started we define & agree what the site’s objectives and aims are. Once the basis of the project is nailed down, research and competitive analysis is undertaken. A carefully thought information architecture is created by using site maps and wireframes.

  • 2. Design(UI/Prototyping/Graphic Design)

In the next step, I create the site’s look & feel. I take the knowledge from the planning process to create the conceptual design and user interface that suits best the project’s needs. Prototyping and graphic design play a big part in this stage.

  • 3. Build(XHTML/CSS/Flash/jQuery/CMS)

The finalised design will now be transformed to a functional and clean coded site. Based on the site’s requirements, which we have defined in the planning process, I build the site. I specialise in standard-based development as well as implementing WordPress as content management system.

  • 4. Test(Browser Compatibility/Performance/Bug Fixing)

After finishing the development part, it is time to test the site for browser compatibility (IE6+, Firefox, Safari, Opera) and performance (fully functional, loading optimization etc.). If bugs appear, they will be fixed.

  • 5. Launch(URL order/Server Setup)

Great, the site is fully working! Now we have to move it from my local server to the world wide web. In case you don’t have URL and host yet, I will order your desired URL and get a hosting plan that best suits your site’s needs.

  • 6. Manage(Analysis/Maintenance/Support)

The site is online, but that doesn’t mean I am out of the picture. After the launch, it is important to analyse how people are using your site. I look at entry points, popular content and optimization strategies to make sure that you and your users are getting the best web experience possible.
